How to format a computer? Free format guide


Most people think that formatting a computer is a complicated process and can be done only by pc experts. But the truth is that everyone can do it easily with little knowledge. In fact, it is very easy to format a computer.

Why should we format our computer?

When we say, format computer it means preparing a hard drive for reading and writing new data. Usually it is for the installation of new operating system. If you bought a new blank hard drive, you should first format it so that it will be ready for read and write.

Formatting a computer is the result of many factors
1.    Blank hard drive
Normally, when we purchase a computer it comes with either preinstalled programs (means it is formatted and all the necessary programs and drivers are already installed by the seller or the manufacturer) or blank drive. A blank drive means you should format and install operating system including all the other programs.

2.    Need for customization
If you aren’t satisfied with the current configuration and setting of a computer, you can reinstall the OS and customize in your way.

3.    Malfunction computer
A computer may get stuck or unable to function properly because of several reasons. Some of them are the following:-
-       Operating system corruption due to virus, spyware, and Trojan
Frequent crash, freeze, slow program loading, blue-screen death and slow performance are some of the symptoms that could lead you to format a computer.
-       Registry problem
-       Hardware failure

4.    Upgrading a computer
Upgrading some of the old parts in your computer may require you to reinstall the operating system again.

On the other hand, it is also recommended to format your computer once a year, even though your computer doesn’t have any of the above problems. This is one way of maintaining computer performance.

These are among the popular reasons for formatting a computer. However, this doesn’t mean that whenever your PC fails to start or unable to work properly you should automatically format it. NO!

Depending on the type of problem your computer encountered, there are many ways to resolve the computer problem.  And formatting should be the last option as formatting deletes all programs and data from your hard drive. And it will take some time to make it usable again.
